For the hearing, Auschwitz is characterized as a place of horrible sounds; shouted commands, screaming, shooting and cries of torture. For the deaf, the terror was silent.

Created by UNICEF, the film portrays the immense challenges of carrying out a polio vaccination campaign in the midst of war, while highlighting the extraordinary determination and dedication of people like Dr. Younis Awadallah. Returning from retirement, he set out to save the lives of more than 600,000 children. In 2024, TIME magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in public health for his role in the urgent vaccination campaign in Gaza. Despite brief pauses in the fighting, Dr. Younis and his team had to overcome logistical barriers, limited access to medical facilities, and constant security threats. The director of this video was in the same year in high school as the students on the ferry back in 2014.
